Vienna is Capital city of Austria and lies on the Danube River. This city is known as legacy of Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. It has long history and beautiful palaces Schonbrunn and Habsburg’s residence.

 Public transportation in Vienna is very developed and busses, trains, trams and underground lines will take you almost anywhere in the city no time at all. It depends where you are staying but you can explore Vienna by walking like I did. I was in Vienna seven days and spend my time walking mostly or using trams. The best option is weekly tickets valid from Monday to Monday and they cost approximately eighteen Euros. You can buy daily or 48 or 72 hours tickets too. 

The main walking street in Vienna is Stephansplatz and close by is the largest shopping street Mariahilfe strasse. The street is so long for shopping that you actually need whole day. All brands of clothes you can find here and it is the famous shopping place in Austria and around counties too.

 Like I mentioned, Vienna has long history and a lot of fountains and monuments you can see in random streets. Buildings are mostly built in Gothic or Baroque style and I was impressed by restorations. When you look at buildings all around city you have feeling time was stopped and you are gone back to the past.

Stephansplatz is the most famous walking street and daily a lot of tourists visit this place. First building you will notice there is Stephens Cathedral or Stephansdom, the most recognizable symbols. Every day Cathedral is crowded and simple you go in and after ten minutes you go out. The Stephansdom North tower is the best thing to do. Its 60 meters Tower and elevator will take you up where you can see the whole city. Tickets are six Euros per person. Unfortunately, when I was in Vienna it was reconstruction of Tower and lift did not work.

In my opinion the best place to eat Mozart cake or Sacher cake is Café Konditorei Aida ( http://www.aida.at/ ). The café has selection of cakes you will stay confused what to choose but if you do not try one of the two well known cakes it is like you never visit Vienna. Prices are affordable and service is excellent. Wi-Fi internet is available in any coffee shops or any restaurants, even city center has free available internet for tourists.

The other place you must visit in Vienna is Schonbrunn Palace. It is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Vienna. During Maria Theresa reign in the 18^th century Schonbrunn Palace become the magnificent focus of court life. In 1996 Palace was put on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and this palace is worth to visit. Inside of palace is Museum and tickets are free. Around the Place is huge Park with fountains and monuments you can explore by walking or with horse-drawn carriage.  Approximately 30 minutes rides in Schonbrunn are around 60 Euros.

One more place to visit in Vienna is Danube Tower. Danube tower has spectacular views over Vienna, express elevator and 360 degrees rotation restaurant too. On the open air platform views of Vienna will keep you entertained for few hours. If starts raining there is covered terrace which is available all year no matter the weather.

However, if you fan of amusement park than definitely you have to visit The Wiener Prater. The Wiener Prater is the largest and the oldest amusement park in the World. Entrance is free of charge. Facilities are various but the most famous and the best known attraction is Wiener Riesenrad, a Ferris wheel.

Besides a Ferris wheel you can enjoy ride on bumper cars, carousels, roller coasters, shooting galleries, ghost trains and other. Explore Prater and see what this place has to offer you need more than one day.

Spending one week in Vienna I have seen so many places I explored by myself but those top places I mentioned are definitely recommended. One little advice, do not rush yourself, let time goes slowly because this beautiful city deserve to be seen.
