Bucharest is the capital and largest city of Romania and has elegant architecture. This city has known as Little Paris. There is a lot places you can see in Bucharest and building will leave your breath less.
I was traveling with my friend in Bucharest from Belgrade, capital city of Serbia and took us eight hours of driving. Drivers in Romania are very sharp and drive like crazy, not respecting driving rules. One tip if you are going to Romania by car, fill the gas because gas station you can only find in the city not on highway. The highway is free of charge. The Only time when is a highway fee is during summer when people going on vacation. Parking place you can find in front of every building and it is free of charge as well. The best option is to park in front your rent apartment and explore the city by walking.
The most famous building is Palace of Parliament. Palace is the heaviest and second biggest building in the World and it was built with a team approximately 700 architects over a period of 13 years. The dictator Nicolae Ceausescu ordered this building during Communism. Inside of building there are three museums and 1100 rooms. It is very impressive building to see. The other places you can visit are Old town where you can find a lot of bars and restaurants. One place I would like to recommend to eat local food is Dracula restaurant (https://www.idracula.ro/ ). Very nice decorated place and food is more than delicious. The unofficial national dish is sarmale, rolls stuffed with pork or beef or simple street snack covrigi, a soft pretzel. Wi-Fi internet is good, you just need to ask waiter for a password.
Walking trough city I have seen a lot of places such us museums, orthodox historical churches, parks, shopping malls.
The river passes through Bucharest it is called Dambovita. I stayed two days in Bucharest and explore the city and left my intuition to lead me in streets to see how Romanian people live. Mostly, they do not speak English and I found myself using Google map to not get lost.
Third day, we decided to keep going our travel to Brasov, one of the most attractive places in Romania too. On out trip to Brasov, mu friend and I stopped to see Peles castle in ski place called Sinaia. Romania is very known by Castles and beautiful nature and forest, fresh air and organic food and I could not miss chance to see Peles castle. It was winter and Sinaia ski place. was very crowded. A lot of tourist was here and it was crowded especially because Sinaia is only two hours driving from Bucharest. The road to the Peles castle is simple, just look for sign. It’s going up to the hill and parking is available for charge in front every restaurant. Currency in Romania called lei but you can pay in Euros as well or you can use a credit card too. After I parked car, we kept our visiting to the Castle by walking.
Nearby Castle is Small River also called Peles and it was beautiful view with snow around. People around Peles castle selling local souvenirs such us magnets made by wood, pictures of castle, socks, sweaters, winter gloves and hats or other. Climbing to the Castle during winter was very hard and you need waterproof boots and hot winter jackets because it is cold too. There is huge panorama picture of Castle during summer and no wonder why people visit this place all the time. Entrance to the castle is around ten Euros but cameras are not allowed inside but you can take pictures outside of the Castle. We explore the place for about two hours and then we sit down in nearby restaurant to get worm and have a tea before our trip to Brasov. Night life in Sinaia is very popular to and local bars have live music. Wi-Fi internet is available in any restaurants, just ask for password.
In conclusion, Bucharest and Peles Castle are one of the places you must visit In Europe, meet their history and culture and be impressed by beauty of this country.
